FAMILY GOVERNMENT
Teaches the Wisdom of God
Praise the LORD! How blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed. (Ps 112:1-2)
Protect & Provide
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her. (Eph 5:25)
We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has the world's goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth. (1 John 3:16-18)
But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. (1 Tim 5:8)
But if any widow has children or grandchildren, they must first learn to practice piety in regard to their own family and to make some return to their parents; for this is acceptable in the sight of God. (1 Tim 5:4)
Encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home. (Titus 2:3-5)
Marriage
Nevertheless, each individual among you also is to love his own wife even as himself, and the wife must see to it that she respects her husband. (Eph 5:33)
Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; fornicators and adulterers God will judge. (Heb 13:4)
"Let no one deal treacherously against the wife of your youth. For I hate divorce," says the LORD. (Mal 2:14-16)
Children
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. (Eph 6:4)
Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward. (Ps 127:3)
How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word. With all my heart I have sought You; do not let me wander from Your commandments. Your word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You. With my lips I have told of all the ordinances of Your mouth. (Ps 119:9-13)
Make them known to your sons and your grandsons. (Deut 4:9)
These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. (Deut 6:1-7)
For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart. The good man brings out of his good treasure what is good; and the evil man brings out of his evil treasure what is evil. (Matt 12:34-35)
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction. Hear, my son, your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching. (Prov 1:7-8)
She opens her mouth in wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. (Prov 31:26-30)
Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it. (Prov 22:6)
